TRC-00294 | Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) ELISA Kit | 96 Well
Product Overview
A competitive ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of Dihydrotestosterone in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.
Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), also known as androstanolone or stanolone, is an endogenous androgen sex steroid and hormone. DHT is biologically important for sexual differentiation of the male genitalia during embryogenesis, maturation of the penis and scrotum at puberty, growth of facial, body, and pubic hair, and development and maintenance of the prostate gland and seminal vesicles. The enzyme 5α-reductase catalyzes the formation of DHT from testosterone by mediates the reduction of the C4-5 double bond of testosterone. Relative to testosterone, DHT is considerably more potent as an agonist of the androgen receptor (AR). 96Trace’s Dihydrotestosterone ELISA kit is a competitive ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of Dihydrotestosterone in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of Dihydrotestosterone captured from the samples.
Applications
This ELISA kit is used for quantitative measurement of Dihydrotestosterone inserum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.
