A Competitive ELISA kit for in vitro quantitative determination of 8-epi-PGF2α concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
F2‐isoprostanes are a family of prostaglandin F2‐like compounds that are formed by free‐radical‐catalyzed peroxidation of arachidonic acid. Several F2‐isoprostanes, but in particular 8‐epi PGF2α, are widely used as oxidative stress biomarkers. High levels of F2-IPs can disrupt the physicochemical integrity of cell membranes but more importantly can exert significant pharmacological activity. 8-epi-PGF2α is a potent vasoconstrictor acting on the renal, pulmonary, and retinal vasculatures, modulates platelet aggregation and is involved in the activation of intracellular signaling. 96Trace 8-epi-PGF2α ELISA Kit is based on the Competitive ELISA principle. The micro-plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with 8-epi-PGF2α. During the reaction, 8-epi-PGF2αin the samples or standard competes with 8-epi-PGF2α coated on the plate for binding to the anti-8-epi-PGF2αantibody. Then Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each microplate well, and TMB substrate is for color development. There is a negative correlation between the OD value of samples and the concentration of 8-epi-PGF2α. The concentration of 8-epi-PGF2αin the samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
