Thymidine kinase 1 (cytosolic) (Rat) ELISA Kit
Size: 96 Well
Application: Biomarker research in biological samples.
A sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of Thymidine kinase 1 (cytosolic) in Rat serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.
Thymidine kinase 1 (TK1), soluble, is a rat thymidine kinase. Two forms of this protein have been identified in animal cells, one in cytosol and one in mitochondria. Activity of the cytosolic enzyme is high in proliferating cells and peaks during the S-phase of the cell cycle; it is very low in resting cells. It has been found that elevated blood serum levels of TK1 correlates with metastatic capabilities of the cancer and thereby can be used to detect malignant types of cancer, furthermore TK-1 has been found to show up in blood serum even before clinical symptoms even start to show. 96Trace’s TK1 ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of rat TK1 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of rat TK1 captured from the samples.
