Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate esters in alkaline buffer and produces an organic radical and inorganic phosphate. Changes in alkaline phosphatase level and activity are associated with various disease states in the liver and bone. 96Trace’s ALP ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of ALP in rat serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of ALP captured from the samples.
