TRC-00198 | CD26 (Human) ELISA Kit | 96 Well

Product Overview

A Sandwich ELISA kit for quantitative measurement of CD26 in serum, plasma, tissue lysates, and other biological fluids

CD26 (DDP4, ADBP2) is a 110 kDa single-pass type II transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the S9B family of proteins. The serine exopeptidase cleaves X-proline or X-alanine dipeptides from the N-terminal of polypeptides such as neuropeptides, peptide hormones, and chemokines. CD26 is expressed on the cells of tissues such as kidneys, intestines, prostate gland, and liver, and activated leukocytes such as T-cells, B-cells, and NK cells. CD26 plays an important role in glucose homeostasis. It degrades incretins such as GLP-1, glucagon, and GIP, which results in loss of their biological activity and contributes to Type 2 diabetes. Additional roles of CD26 include regulation of the immune system, signal transduction, and apoptosis. CD26 also plays an important role in tumor biology. Depending on the tumor microenvironment, CD26 may either act as a tumor suppressor or activator. It is highly expressed in some cancers such as mesothelioma, colorectal and renal cancers, whereas it has variable expression in some cancers such as lung, prostate, and gliomas. CD26 contributes to the pathophysiology of infectious diseases such as MERS and COVID-19 disease. Due to the diverse roles of CD26 in biological processes, it could serve as a potential therapeutic target. 96Trace’s CD26 (Human) ELISA kit quantitatively measures CD26 in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and then washed with Wash Buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added to the plate, and post-incubation any unattached conjugates are washed off by Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected by the addition of TMB-substrate. Finally, the reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of CD26 in the sample or standard.
