TRC-00402 | Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO1) (Human) ELISA Kit | 96 Well

Product Overview

A sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO1) in Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.

Heme Oxygenase 1 (HO1) cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin. Biliverdin is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase. Under physiological conditions, the activity of heme oxygenase is highest in the spleen, where senescent erythrocytes are sequestrated and destroyed. Exhibits cytoprotective effects since excess of free heme sensitizes cells to undergo apoptosis. 96Trace’s HO1 ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of HO1 in human serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of HO1 captured from the samples.
