Glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) functions in the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide, and is one of the most important antioxidant enzymes in humans. GPX1 protects the hemoglobin in erythrocytes from oxidative breakdown. 96Trace’s GPX1 ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of human GPX1 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of GPX1 captured from the samples.
