Growth arrest specific 6 (GAS6) is a vitamin K-dependent cytokine that is expressed in various cell types such as endothelial cells, macrophages, and vascular smooth muscle cells. GAS6 binds with high affinity to TAM (TYRO3, AXL, and MER) family receptors and activates downstream signaling pathways such as PI3K, ERK, and NF-kB that help regulate cell differentiation, migration, proliferation, and apoptosis. GAS6 expression is upregulated in cancer, renal disease, atherosclerotic disease, and inflammatory conditions such as sepsis, systemic lupus erythematosus. Hence, GAS6 could serve as an efficient biomarker of human diseases. 96Trace’s GAS6 (Human) ELISA kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle to quantitatively measure the amount of GAS6 in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and subsequently washed with Wash Buffer. The HRP-Streptavidin is added and any unattached conjugates are washed off using Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected by the addition of TMB-substrate. Finally, the reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution. The color developed is proportional to the amount of GAS6 in the sample or standard.
