TRC-00370 | Galectin-3 (Human) ELISA Kit | 96 Well
Product Overview
A sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of Galectin-3 in Plasma,Serum,Tissue lysate,Other biological fluids.
Galectin-3 belongs to the family of β-galactoside-binding lectins and is ubiquitously expressed in human tissues such as kidneys, blood vessels, heart, and a variety of cell types. The protein is predominantly present in the cytoplasm, but it shuttles to the nucleus. Additionally, it is present on cell surfaces and secreted into circulation. Due to the different locations of the protein, it performs a variety of functions. In the nucleus, Galectin-3 is involved in RNA splicing and transcription of genes, while in the cytoplasm, it functions in cell survival. Galectin-3 also plays a significant role in biological activities such as inflammation, angiogenesis, host defense, and apoptosis. 96Trace’s Galectin-3 (Human) ELISA kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle to quantitatively measure the amount of Galectin-3 in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and subsequently washed with Wash Buffer. The HRP-Streptavidin is added and any unattached conjugates are washed away with Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected by the addition of TMB-substrate. Finally, the reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution. The color developed is proportional to the amount of Galectin-3 in the sample or standard.
