TRC-00119 | AREG (Human) ELISA Kit | 96 Well
Product Overview
A sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of AREG in Plasma,Serum,Tissue lysate,Other biological fluids.
Amphiregulin (AREG) is a 23 kD bifunctional glycoprotein that belongs to the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family of proteins. It functions as an autocrine growth factor as well as a mitogen for regulatory T-cells, fibroblasts, astrocytes, and Schwann cells. AREG is synthesized in a proform, which undergoes proteolytic cleavage to release the soluble protein. AREG is expressed in the epithelial cells of organs such as the ovaries, placenta, stomach, and kidney. AREG expression also is found in several human cancers such as myeloma, gastric, breast, prostate, liver, colorectal, and esophageal cancer, where they either stimulate their proliferation or inhibit them. Increased expression of AREG is also observed in patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Hence AREG could potentially serve as an efficient biomarker in the treatment of lung disease and cancer. 96Trace’s AREG (Human) ELISA kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle to quantitatively measure the amount of AREG in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and then washed with Wash Buffer. The HRP-Streptavidin is added and any unattached conjugates are washed off using Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected by the addition of TMB-substrate. Finally, the reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution. The color developed is proportional to the amount of AREG in the sample or standard.
Applications
